Sadly I spent most of my day watching Top Model re-runs, loving to hate Tyra, then struggling to hate her, then accepting her for who she is: a charitable narcissist. Anyway, here's my outfit :)
I watched Factory Girl again, so I have definitely been very inspired to wear crazy Edie makeup at any possible opportunity.
Jacket: Vintage (my mom's), Dress: F21
You know, instead of recommending one song, I'm just going to go ahead and tell you to listen to the entire Velvet Underground collection. Or as much as you can. They pretty much rule. I realize that more and more each day.

ready to wear
Got bored, so I checked out some of the ready-to-wear spring 2010 lines. I have to say, I'm LOVING Alice + Olivia. So cute. Check it out:
I LOVE these pants. I wish I could find them in a much cheaper version. I'd wear them in a heartbeat.

a damsel with a dulcimer
Just got out of my English class, hence the literary reference in my title. I have really grown to like Kubla Khan by Samuel Coleridge. Fascinating imagery. Anyway, here's my outfit for today.
Ignore the ridiculous expression on my face. I clearly have much to learn from Tyra.
(Top: F21, Shorts: F21, Headband: J.Crew, Boots: Charlotte Russe)
As you can just barely see, I recently got my nose pierced! It didn't really hurt all that much but the 45 minute wait was almost more than I could stand. I had to endure sweaty palms and ultimately a fainting episode. Good times. So far, however, I'm really happy with it :)

furr
Another new purchase: furry vest! Hurrah! I really love this look, it's so hippie-chic. I felt a little bit like Edie in "Poor Little Rich Girl"...
After I took these pictures I realized how red my ears look. That's because I just struggled through treacherous winds to make it back home; it's freezing outside!
As you can see, my man Bob is looming in the background. Definitely had to bring him along to my new apartment.

liquid
I moved into my new apartment this week and started up classes again, so needless to say I've been pretty busy, which is a change from my old schedule of waking up at 2 in the afternoon and spending my day lounging or dreading a shift at Bob Evans.
Alas, with classes also come parties :) On Friday I went shopping at my cheap store of choice, the wonderful, fabulous Forever 21. I got some great pieces that I can't wait to put together and post! Sadly my camera battery died, so I haven't been able to get any pictures, but someone got a picture of me at a party that I found quite amusing:
Just got these shoes at Forever 21 for only $23 and I love them! They held up pretty well trudging across snowy sidewalks too. Paired with my leather leggings, I made quite an impression and some new friends that night! Isn't fashion great?

Night & Day
Happy 2010 everyone! I had a great evening, unfortunately I failed to document any of it. Instead, in a fit of nerdiness, I recreated my outfit from last night. Alas, it is lacking my hair teased to high heaven and my Edie makeup, but you get the general idea.
Unfortunately you can't really tell from the picture, but I wore a sequined tank underneath the sheer black blouse and it created this really cool, subtle glitter action!
(Black blouse: Kimchi Blue (UO), Sequined tank: Express)
I just bought this skirt and I'm obsessed with it! I tried it on a couple days ago, decided against buying it, and then went back the next day and got it.
(Striped pencil skirt: Express)
I love these Steve Madden shoes. They're my mom's of course, so she was all worried that I was going to ruin them whilst out of the town. Fear not, they survived the night.
My dad is cooking a nice dinner for the family (we even busted out the nice china) so I decided to dress for the occasion, because that's how I make my own fun.
I got the tank top and skirt from my mom for Christmas. At first I wasn't so sure about the skirt... I didn't really think it was very "me", (whatever that means), but after putting it on and belting it I'm pleasantly surprised!
More glitter action with the tank :)
(Skirt, Tank: J.Crew, Cardigan: F21, Tights: Chinese Laundry, Shoes: Bobbi Blue)
